Malena is a Certified Prosthetist with a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology and a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Science. She graduated from BCIT with a Diploma in Clinical Methods in Prosthetics and Orthotics in 2016. Malena has a holistic and patient-centred approach to care and finds it extremely meaningful to support people through their prosthetic journeys. As an exercise enthusiast herself, she advocates for patients to engage in active lifestyles – whatever that looks like for each person. She is always available for a chat about anything exercise related!

She is also an instructor in the Prosthetics and Orthotics Program at BCIT, and volunteers with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada and Operation Namaste.

Malena lives in East Vancouver with her family. In the summers, you may find her biking and playing volleyball. In the winter, although she prefers the sun and heat, she will brave the cold to ski.
