Malena is a Certified Prosthetist with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Science. She graduated from BCIT with a Diploma in Clinical Methods in Prosthetics and Orthotics in 2016 and has been providing comprehensive prosthetic care ever since.

She takes a holistic, patient-centred approach and finds it deeply meaningful to support clients through every stage of their prosthetic journey. With her strong background in exercise science and rehabilitation, Malena has a special interest in helping individuals return to active, confident lifestyles, thoughtfully matching each component and design to their unique goals and abilities.

In addition to her clinical practice, Malena is also an instructor in the BCIT Prosthetics and Orthotics Program, where she helps train and mentor the next generation of prosthetists. She volunteers with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada and Operation Namaste, contributing her expertise both locally and internationally. She typically spends 3-4 days per week in the clinic with clients and 1-2 days teaching at BCIT.

Malena lives in East Vancouver with her family. In the summer, you’ll find her biking and playing volleyball, and in the winter, braving the cold to ski.
