    Foot Orthotics

Foot orthotics can help manage a wide range of conditions by improving alignment, relieving pain, and accommodating issues such as plantar fasciitis, arthritis, bunions, metatarsalgia, or diabetic foot concerns. Proper support can also reduce strain on the knees, hips, and lower back. We offer both custom-made orthotics, designed and fabricated in-house for a precise fit tailored to your foot structure and activity level, and off-the-shelf options that provide quick, effective support for common concerns. Each device is selected to meet your individual needs, whether for everyday use, work, or sport, with the goal of improving comfort and mobility.

    Ankle-Foot Orthoses (AFOs)

Ankle-Foot Orthoses (AFOs) are designed to support and stabilize the ankle and foot, helping to improve mobility, balance, and safety during walking or standing. These devices are commonly prescribed for conditions such as foot drop, arthritis, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, or post-stroke weakness. At Pentland’s, we provide both custom-made AFOs, carefully fabricated to match your anatomy and functional goals, and pre-fabricated options for quicker access to support. AFOs may be rigid or articulated, depending on your needs, and are built with comfort, durability, and performance in mind to support your independence in daily activities.

    Knee Orthoses

Knee orthoses help stabilize the joint, reduce pain, and support movement following injury or in managing chronic knee conditions. They are commonly prescribed for ligament injuries (ACL, MCL, PCL, LCL), meniscal damage, patellar instability, and osteoarthritis. We offer both custom-made and pre-fabricated knee braces, including unloader braces for arthritis, functional braces for sports, and post-operative braces with adjustable motion control. Each brace is carefully selected and fitted to match your specific clinical and lifestyle needs. Our goal is to restore mobility, improve comfort, and protect your knee throughout recovery and daily activities.

    Knee-Ankle-Foot Orthoses (KAFOs)

Knee-Ankle-Foot Orthoses (KAFOs) provide full lower-limb support by stabilizing the knee, ankle, and foot to improve alignment, reduce pain, and restore safer mobility. These devices are often prescribed for individuals with muscle weakness, paralysis, or joint instability due to conditions like spinal cord injury, post-polio syndrome, or muscular dystrophy. We offer custom-fabricated KAFOs tailored to your clinical and functional needs, along with pre-fabricated options for timely support. Each KAFO is carefully fitted to enhance comfort, durability, and safety during daily activities, helping promote greater independence and confidence in movement.

    Spinal Bracing

Spinal braces help manage pain, support alignment, and limit motion during recovery from injury, surgery, or chronic spinal conditions. A common example is the Jewett brace, which restricts forward bending and twisting to protect the thoracic and lumbar spine. Typically worn for 6 to 12 weeks, this brace helps promote healing while maintaining essential mobility. Each brace is carefully selected and fitted to meet your specific medical needs. For added convenience, our Certified Orthotists are available for hospital site visits, including same-day fittings when appropriate, to ensure timely access to spinal support. Hand and Wrist Orthoses

We offer a wide range of hand and wrist orthoses designed to support recovery, relieve pain, and restore functional use of the upper limb. These devices are commonly prescribed for conditions such as arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, fractures, and neurological disorders. Our services include both custom-made splints, tailored to meet clinical and anatomical needs, and pre-fabricated options for faster access to support. Depending on the condition, orthoses may be used to immobilize, guide motion, or correct alignment. We also collaborate closely with other professionals to ensure each device fits seamlessly into your care plan.

  • Other Orthotic Services

In addition to the commonly prescribed orthoses listed here, we also provide a wide range of specialized bracing solutions to address unique needs. These include customized orthotics for rare or complex conditions, post-trauma or post-surgical support, and functional bracing for work, sport, or daily living. Our team regularly works with clients who require creative solutions, whether for limb differences, chronic joint instability, or combined upper and lower limb support.
