We recently dispensed a custom transfemoral (above-knee) prosthesis designed to provide both performance and a natural anatomical appearance. For individuals with an above-knee amputation, prosthetic design must address stability, alignment, and energy efficiency, while also considering comfort and personal preferences.
In this case, the prosthesis was finished with a custom cosmetic foam cover. This outer layer is carefully shaped to create a more natural leg contour, helping the prosthesis blend seamlessly under clothing.
